Omin Technology ("we", "us", "our") builds AI agents that answer calls, take bookings, and handle enquiries for local businesses — including our own front office. This page explains what information we collect when you call, chat, or get in touch with us, and what we do with it.
The short version: anything you tell us is used only to run Omin Technology and to get back to you. We don't sell it, rent it, or hand it over to anyone else's marketing list.
Who we are
Omin Technology is a UK sole trader operated by Colm Hasson, serving local businesses in Derry~Londonderry and the surrounding area. For anything on this page, you can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect, and how
We only collect what's needed to answer your enquiry or book you in. Depending on how you get in touch, that's:
- Phoning us: your phone number (from caller ID), and whatever you tell our agent, George — your name, what you're calling about, and a preferred callback time if you book one. Calls are processed in real time by speech and AI services to generate a response (see "Who else touches your data" below).
- Using the chat widget on our website: the messages you type or speak, and any name, phone number, or email you choose to give us if you ask for a callback.
- Emailing or calling us directly: your email address or phone number, and the contents of your message.
We don't ask for anything beyond this. We don't run tracking cookies or analytics scripts on this site — the only outside requests your browser makes are to load our typefaces (Google Fonts and Fontshare), which see your IP address as part of serving the font file, the same as any website using web fonts.
Why we collect it
To respond to you, to check calendar availability and book a callback if you'd like one, and to keep a record of the enquiry so Colm can follow up properly. That's it — we don't use your details for anything beyond running this business.
How we use it
Information you give us is used solely for Omin Technology's own business purposes: getting back to you, honouring a booking, and improving how our own agents handle calls and chats. It is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Who else touches your data
To actually answer a call or chat message in real time, we rely on a handful of specialist service providers who process the data on our behalf — they don't get to keep it, use it for their own purposes, or sell it on. This is standard for how any AI-driven phone or chat system works, and we think you should know exactly who's involved:
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Twilio | Connects and routes phone calls to our system |
| Deepgram | Converts spoken words into text during a call |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Powers George's understanding and responses |
| Fish Audio | Converts George's text responses into speech |
| Google (Calendar & Sheets) | Stores booking details and callback times |
Some of these providers process data outside the UK/EU, including in the United States. Where that happens, they do so under their own data protection safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses), consistent with UK GDPR requirements for international transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service and maintain business records — generally no longer than 24 months from your last contact with us, unless we're legally required to keep something longer.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that's inaccurate
- Delete your information, where we're not required to keep it
- Stop using your information for a particular purpose
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle information changes, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. We'd encourage checking back occasionally if you're a returning customer.
